Casey and Vince’s New Years Wedding | Paola Wedding Photographer

What better way to kick off a fresh, new year than to photograph a wedding on New Year’s Day!  Though the weather was incredibly chilly, the day itself could not have been more beautiful!  The sun was shining, the streets were snow free, and everyone was excited that Casey and Vince’s wedding day had arrived!

As soon as we stepped inside Evergreen Event Space in Paola, KS, we immediately saw why they had chosen this venue!  The gorgeous brick, cherry wood floors and balconies, and gold inlaid ceiling fit them perfectly!  Its romantically classic and elegant style was a perfect reflection of them!  When it was time for the “First Look”, we headed outside to the town Pavilion.  Casey donned her coat for the walk across the street to see her groom.  Just before she walked up to have him turn to her, she slipped her coat off so Vince could see her head-to-toe in her gorgeous gown!  When they saw each other for the first time, even the cold outside couldn’t take away from the awe-struck joy and love they shared in those moments!

One of the neatest things that really touched our hearts that day was to see the love they share with each other and how close all of them are as a family!  They are all truly genuine and kind people and their joy was overflowing as they celebrated together!

Alrighty, it’s time to let the photos tell their story…  Enjoy the slideshow of this very special couple!  Congragulations Casey, Vince, and families!!

Courtney & Jeff’s Deer Creek Wedding | Kansas City Wedding Photographer

After several busy months of planning, it was time to enjoy the day they so lovingly put together!  Jeff eagerly awaited the first look with his bride-to-be as she and her bridesmaids bustled excitedly around getting their hair and makeup done.  Once Courtney had slipped into her gorgeous wedding dress, we whisked her away to surprise Jeff for their first look at the 17th hole on the Deer Creek Golf Club.  As Courtney walked up behind him, Jeff’s smile was getting bigger by the moment and when he finally was able to turn around and see his bride, well, words just can’t express the love and awe Jeff and Courtney share with each other; but the photos do!  After the first look, we hopped back into our borrowed golf carts (check out the awesome photos of this in the slideshow) and headed for photos at the ALOFT Hotel in Overland Park where the bridal party got to let loose and celebrate the day.

Their late afternoon outdoor ceremony was filled with added touches special to Jeff and Courtney.  One of our favorites is when Jeff poured sand from Texas on the spot where he stood during the wedding.  He is a Texas boy through and through and had the sand brought up from Texas so he would have a part of it there!  It was awesome!  (check out the pics of it in the slideshow)

Their reception was gorgeous with a tasty buffet, a lovely and delicious wedding cake by the Dreamery Bakery, awesome music by DJ Austin Burke, a photobooth for guests to enjoy, and a bubble send off.  It was such a joy to see the love they shared and the love of their family and friends as they celebrated the beginning of their newest chapter in their life together!  There is no doubt that they have a wonderful marriage ahead of them and we wish them all the best!! Congratulations Courtney and Jeff!!

Courtney & Jeff’s Kansas City Engagement Session | Kansas City Wedding Photographer

There is nothing more special than to be able to photograph couples and capture the candid emotion of the love they share!  Courtney and Jeff are an incredible couple we had the joy of photographing!  After several wonderful years of dating, Jeff proposed to Courtney and they began planning for their special day!

Everyone who knows them knows that they are two of the kindest and most genuine people you could ever meet and that they love each other deeply.  Their infectious smiles and playful natures bring out the best of each other and made for an amazing e-session and gorgeous photos!  As we traveled from the Liberty Memorial to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, and wrapped up the shoot in the fountain in front of Union Station, there was never a moment where they weren’t laughing, smiling, and truly enjoying every moment of their time together!

Here are a few of our favorite photos from their e-session!  Their beautiful wedding photos will be posted soon… so be on the lookout!  🙂

Sara and Chase’s Athenaeum Wedding | Kansas City Wedding Photographers

After an incredible engagement session with Sara and Chase just days before their wedding, we couldn’t wait to share in the beautiful wedding they had put their hearts and time into creating.  Sara and Chase had a beautiful “Notebook” themed wedding to go with their vintage love story… They courted each other with hand-written letters to each other while Chase was away serving in the Navy, and they created a beautiful wedding that brought those special details to life.

Their “Notebook” inspired wedding was carried throughout all the details of the day.  Sara’s beautiful Maggie Sottero dress was the picture of elegance and her black and red feather, ribbon, and jewel encrusted bouquet brought out the vintage style in every way.  Chase had a wonderful surprise planned for his lovely bride and was bursting with excitement to share it with her.  He rented a vintage 1954 Bentley and had it waiting for her after their first look at the Memorial.  They had a great time enjoying their vintage ride and we got some amazing photos to remember the special surprise as we shot around Union Station and headed back for the ceremony!

Their priceless day was a loving effort of all of their family and friends and everyone had a wonderful time! After their beautiful ceremony at the Kansas City Athenaeum, the reception kicked off and everyone enjoyed an evening of dancing, celebrating, and taking silly photos in our LIGHTBOX Photo Booth.  From start to end, Sara and Chase’s wedding day was full of love, laughter, and family and we enjoyed being such a special part of their love story!

Check out this slideshow of their engagement and wedding photos to see their story come to life! Enjoy!

Absolutely gorgeous photos! Kevin and Ashley, you both have such a gift of capturing those most special moments. I feel like I was a guest at this wedding after watching the slide show. Wonderful to see the joy as the bride and groom enjoy the beginning of their life journey together.
